OK. Wow! I was looking for an image to represent being flexible and this popped up. First, the why I was looking for it. I was thinking about how amazing it was that we recognized a problem: behavior at our assemblies; we brainstormed a solution at our staff meeting on Wednesday; and put it into action on Friday. AND...it was beautiful. I appreciate that we were all willing to problem solve and then, act!  Then, why is this quote so cool?? Because I think it represents us. Isn't that why we are at Westbrook?   Hello Everyone!! I am starting to feel like we are making progress. Not that we haven't been making progress this entire time, but it now feels less like we are going straight up a ladder and more like we are walking up a very large hill. Ha!! If it makes you feel better, we have to also move forward to climb a hill. (Ok, Brooks. Enough with your analogies.) We are getting settled into our routines, we have identified our students who need extra support and we are moving forward each day. It feels good!! Keep it up, Westbrook! You are awesome.  Second Step, SWIS and Behavior Concerns: As a team, we are working really hard to differentiate Tier 1 support and Tier 2 support for our students. Because the Westbrook staff comes with so much experience, it makes this task much easier. All of that to say, we are here to support students at the Tier 2 level, but we are going to ask for some things from you before we make that happen. Hello Westbrook! Well, we did it! We had our flag salute and assembly in the same day and the weather was less than perfect. The cool thing is that we did it and both the students and parents were just as excited as they would have been if the sun were shining. It was fun to see the proud kids and parents. Was it perfect? 100% NO! But, we will keep working on it until we get to where we want to be. Why? Because we are Westbrook and that is what we do.  Also, if you watched the video, you know I received some feedback at the end of the day. Apparently, the neighbors can hear our chant.
