Sunday, September 3

Hello Westbrook! Well, we did it! We had our flag salute and assembly in the same day and the weather was less than perfect. The cool thing is that we did it and both the students and parents were just as excited as they would have been if the sun were shining. It was fun to see the proud kids and parents. Was it perfect? 100% NO! But, we will keep working on it until we get to where we want to be. Why? Because we are Westbrook and that is what we do.

Also, if you watched the video, you know I received some feedback at the end of the day. Apparently, the neighbors can hear our chant. I think I may just have to invite them so they can be part of the fun!

Daily Schedule: Please add your daily schedule to our 'Schedules' document: Westbrook Schedules

There are tabs at the bottom with your name where you can add your schedule. This makes is so much easier for us to take a look and see what is happening throughout the day. It also helps determine my pop in times.

West Park High School Players will be coming this Tuesday from 8:30-9:30am. There will be 18 players coming. I would love for each of them to have something to do. I do not want to add to your to do list, but this is an important relationship to build. They can simply come read a book to the class, play a game outside, run a small group, practice math facts, sight words or maybe even letter sounds. They could do something with a different group of your students each time they come and using the outdoor tables is a great option. If you need ideas, let me know. This first time will likely require a bit of training. Rori, Jenn and I will do our best to support.

Please add you name to this list. We currently have spots for 8-9 of the players.

PTC and Parent Support: Traci Davis is amazing and wants to help in anyway she can. If I were to share our room parent list, she would probably call parents in classes who do not have a room parent yet and convince them to step up. That may actually happen😂 Please reach out for help! Also, please add info to the document below if you have not already.

Please add to these documents:

Room Parents and Art Docents

Public School Works: Did anyone else get the reminder email that the due date is approaching? Just me?

Here is an outline of how long each training is supposed to take. Some of them can be quickly clicked through.

I know these are not fun, but the are required trainings for employment. Brooks needs to practice what she preaches and get on it!!!

Here are the things I am still working on:

1) I have ordered all supplemental curriculum and am trying so hard to get it in your hands! I know you are eager to have it.

2) If you asked for a black tub, I should be able to deliver some, if not all, this week.

3) If you are still waiting for furniture to come or go, let me know. If you want furniture removed, put it close to the door at the end of the day and put a note on it. I know many of you are waiting for adult chairs. Let me know if you still need some. We have several in storage. Also, let me know what other things you need.

4) We are putting our emergency bags together to distribute and will be having emergency drills. While we wait for our bags, we will have 1 or 2 non-evacuation drills.

***Please please please, let me know if there is something I can do to help you. I am doing my best, but will likely miss some things along the way. Do not hesitate to reach out! ***
