  Happy Sunday! This week we have our first assembly recognizing our Resilient students. I cannot how happy it makes me to hear students talking about what it means to be resilient. This is such an important trait I hope to grow in our students at Westbrook. All of you are the perfect examples to lead the way as you have demonstrated such resilience in the opening of Westbrook. Another thank you to all of you! The Assembly will start around 10:10am. Some grade levels will be coming straight from recess. Let me know if you have questions about the process of the assembly. I know it will be new for most of you.   Happy Sunday!! We made it through our first full week! In my opinion, things are beginning to feel a little more comfortable as we get our systems in place. Now, we can start focusing on what we do- kids!!  Speaking of kids, we have a lot of people that want to come help! There are about 50 people from the Heritage Solaire neighborhood across the street that are eager to help. The WestPark football team is also going to come every other week. I want to create a schedule so that you have a consistent person working with your class or a small group when they come. Many of the volunteers from across the street are retired teachers, administrators, ELD teachers and more. They have the knowledge and desire to help. The football players can also lead small groups after some training. All of this to say, we have the village ready to support our students.   Hello Westbrook Staff!! All I have to say is, 'We did it!!' What that means to me is that we made it through the build up and the opening day. Quite frankly, what we do from here feels more normal. Well, maybe after we get some of our systems dialed in. The toughest part of my day is lunch, but I know that will soon be just a funny memory. At least, I hope😂 I also want to give everyone a huge shout out!! Each and every one of you has been extremely flexible and positive through all of the craziness. I appreciate that!! And another HUGE shout out to Taylor, Heather, Crystal, Jenn, Andrea, Alexis, Brittany, Rori and more!! You have all absolutely jumped in with both feet to support our students from day one!!
