Happy Mother's Day to all of you! Whether you are a mom or not, you care for many special little ones each day. Thank you for all you do each and everyday. The blog today is going to be vey succinct because I am trying to finish it before brunch😂

We have another busy week. Is there any other way at Westbrook? 


Volunteer Dessert: Our Volunteer Dessert is Wednesday, 5/15, from 1:15-2pm Thank you to Kristen for taking this on. Here is the link to sign up: Dessert Sign Up

First Responders Day: First Responders Day is May 16. Here is a rough outline of what to expect. 

The time will be from 9am-11am. Student will leave their classrooms at approximately 8:45/8:50ish and will sit out on the blacktop. The helicopter is to land on our grass at 9am! Once landed the students will go back to class. We will then begin to release the classes one by one starting from TK up through 5th to visit all the first responders. Once a class has completed their “tour” and goes back to their classroom….they are done. 

Teacher Appreciation Week Cont... PTC wanted me to share they still have some things in store for you. They truly appreciate you and want you to feel the love. They will also be reimbursing you. Start gathering your receipts and there are reimbursement forms in the basket in their box in the office. It will be for at least $200. I will get you the exact amount soon. 


Teacher Check Out: It is that time already! Time to start thinking about room check out. Here is the district form: Teacher Check Out

We have some additional things at Westbrook. Your whiteboards need to be completely cleared of anything as they are going to fix all damages. I will talk to our custodians to find out exactly how they would like furniture arranged. I also have to get all of the classrooms that have not been used student ready. In addition, if you had any of the standard items moved out of your room, those things may be coming back. We can see if anyone else wants them or if you may have a use for them. If not, I can have them moved to the warehouse. Just know, this will be a process that will take some time. Let me know what other questions you have! This is new to me as well!

  Happy Sunday! This week we have our first assembly recognizing our Resilient students. I cannot how happy it makes me to hear students talking about what it means to be resilient. This is such an important trait I hope to grow in our students at Westbrook. All of you are the perfect examples to lead the way as you have demonstrated such resilience in the opening of Westbrook. Another thank you to all of you! The Assembly will start around 10:10am. Some grade levels will be coming straight from recess. Let me know if you have questions about the process of the assembly. I know it will be new for most of you. I will have the certificates in your boxes tomorrow.  Keep an eye out for SWIS updates and information this week.  Volunteer Update:  Jason Perrone, our resident cheerleader, put a sign up in the staff room for him to come in and read to your class with the intention of having you leave the room and get a break. This is what I put in the family blog but I want to share it with you, as well!  Happy Sunday and Congrats to all of my Niners Fans out there! I am bummed we did not pull of the upset but it was a great game. The Packers made some big mistakes at the wrong time, but that goes to show you, we all make mistakes even if we are paid an astronomical amount of money😂 I have to say, I loved so much of the game. I loved (and hated) how close it was. I loved the history of Shanahan and LaFleur. I also enjoyed hearing how the coaches trusted their young quarterbacks.   Welcome to December, Westbrook! I just have to say, you all rock! Thursday's paint night was so much fun. There was so much laughing and well, joy. We were the first staff to do a paint night at MoJoe's and it was the largest paint night group they ever hosted. Leave it up to us to be the first! Many of you commented on how much fun it was and some even asked why more staffs do not do it? Well, to be completely honest, I want all of you to think about the staffs you came from and ask yourself if there would have been so many people at an event like this? In my experience not many would have shown up or it would have been the same few who always come. Is it the same for you? This is one of the million reasons we are so fortunate at Westbrook. We all enjoy spending time with each other and we make the time to do fun things like this together. We are so lucky! I challenge you to keep this going.
