Happy Sunday! There is a reason I chose this quote today. I am writing this blog on Saturday and trying to get as much of it done as I can in the 45 min I have. This morning, I had an appt to get new tires. Turns out, my tires have a lock and the key is nowhere to be found. I have to add, they called to tell me this an hour an a half after my appointment time, so I had been waiting this whole time. The only option was to go to the Honda dealership and try to get it worked out. My hope was they could get it fixed on the spot. How cute am I thinking that was a possibility? Nope. I have to make an appointment to get some lug nuts switched. Awesome. 

Here is why the quote. It is a big deal for me to make an appointment for anything. I simply don't have time. Learning I had to make an appointment and then reschedule getting my tires had me in tears. And it had nothing to do with the 3 hours I spent this morning waiting. I was actually not upset about that. It was the fact I have to fit these two additional appointments into my life. I was talking to my husband and I said 'The only thing I do not have any extra of is time.' (and money, but that is for anther day.) Saying that actually, kind of hit home. 

This story is about trying to fit in extra things, but it is also a reminder that time is non-renewable. Another favorite quote from a Peloton instructor, 'You don't have the time, you make the time.' When you say you don't have time to do something you enjoy, it is because you are not making the time to do it. You can't make more, you can't do it again. Make the most of every moment and don't let time slip away from you.

Scheduled Assemblies: We have a couple of assemblies scheduled in November that I wanted you to get on your calendars. 

November 9 @ 10:30am (Kinder switch lunch and recess?): The Woodcreek Theater Group will be performing. 

November 14th, 2 assemblies @ 8-8:20am and 8:30-8:50am. The WestPark Dance Team will be coming to perform. I will share how we are going to split the assemblies soon. 

Picture Days is Monday, 10/16. I am still working out when our staff picture will be. I know that at least one teacher is out on 10/16. Is anyone going to be out on 10/23, make up day? If it is a possibility that we will all be here, I will have our staff picture on 10/23. I will let you know ASAP.

This is what I put in the family blog but I want to share it with you, as well!  Happy Sunday and Congrats to all of my Niners Fans out there! I am bummed we did not pull of the upset but it was a great game. The Packers made some big mistakes at the wrong time, but that goes to show you, we all make mistakes even if we are paid an astronomical amount of money😂 I have to say, I loved so much of the game. I loved (and hated) how close it was. I loved the history of Shanahan and LaFleur. I also enjoyed hearing how the coaches trusted their young quarterbacks.   (In full transparency, the following is what I wrote in the family blog. I need to be efficient so I can watch the game!!) Happy Wildcard Weekend!! If there was ever a moment when you doubted whether or not the Brooks were true Packer fans, we cleared up any doubt today. We also provided many smiles for our fellow shoppers. I told my son I want him to wear this more often because everyone got such a kick out of it. The game is on right now, so there is a lot of excitement (and yelling) in our household. Eeek. Also, I am having a very hard time focusing on the blog!!  It was a great week back. I cannot tell you how happy I was when some of you shared things you were doing in your classrooms and growth by your students. I love that you did not miss a beat when the students returned from break. I also appreciate how you braved the cold to do the Recess Rodeos and worked together to find solutions and share ideas.   Happy Sunday! Any Ted Lasso fans out there? The other day, a list of lessons we can learn from Ted Lasso crossed my path, or infiltrated my feed, however you want to look at it. So of course, I went down a Ted Lasso rabbit hole. I have zero regrets! I found lessons for leaders, teachers and students and I love them so much! On our first installment of lessons from Ted Lasso, I share 8 lessons for teachers. I do want you all to know that my vision for Westbrook was in no way influenced or inspired by Ted Lasso. However, reading through his lessons, I was both surprised and delighted by the similarities. I think you are all very good in these areas but I have a challenge for you. Read through them and find one you have some room for growth or find the most difficult. Write that lesson on a piece of paper and put it somewhere you will see it often.
