Happy Sunday! I really love this note although I wish it said 💙 Me. What a wonderful mind shift! We are at the end of Westbrook's first year. Take a second and put yourself back at this time last year. Most of you knew you were going to Westbrook. You were feeling the emotions of leaving a place you knew and taking a leap toward something unknown. Phew! What a year it has been! We totally did it. We made it through our first year and quite frankly, we rocked it. (I know, I always say that.) We have built an incredible community, a positive culture and a pretty great place to work. We are also doing everything we can to support students. It is so fun to be apart of. Now, the preparation begins for next year and I am looking forward to every minute! 


Community Thank You: This Friday, May 3 from 5-8pm. It is going to be a really fun event and I hope you will be able to come for a bit. I need you feedback on the booths. Do you have parents taking care of them? Do you need help? I see the auction baskets coming in, which is great! It is going to be a fun evening!


Whole School Picture: We had our awesome practice picture and now we will take one more. Our photographer will be taking our picture on Tuesday, May 7, at 8am. We will wear grade level shirts again because it looks SO cool!! 


Volunteer Dessert: Our Volunteer Dessert is Wednesday, 5/15, from 1:15-2pm Thank you to Kristen for taking this on. Here is the link to sign up: Dessert Sign Up

  Happy Sunday! This week we have our first assembly recognizing our Resilient students. I cannot how happy it makes me to hear students talking about what it means to be resilient. This is such an important trait I hope to grow in our students at Westbrook. All of you are the perfect examples to lead the way as you have demonstrated such resilience in the opening of Westbrook. Another thank you to all of you! The Assembly will start around 10:10am. Some grade levels will be coming straight from recess. Let me know if you have questions about the process of the assembly. I know it will be new for most of you. I will have the certificates in your boxes tomorrow.  Keep an eye out for SWIS updates and information this week.  Volunteer Update:  Jason Perrone, our resident cheerleader, put a sign up in the staff room for him to come in and read to your class with the intention of having you leave the room and get a break. This is what I put in the family blog but I want to share it with you, as well!  Happy Sunday and Congrats to all of my Niners Fans out there! I am bummed we did not pull of the upset but it was a great game. The Packers made some big mistakes at the wrong time, but that goes to show you, we all make mistakes even if we are paid an astronomical amount of money😂 I have to say, I loved so much of the game. I loved (and hated) how close it was. I loved the history of Shanahan and LaFleur. I also enjoyed hearing how the coaches trusted their young quarterbacks.   Happy Sunday! I had to start the blog off with this quote because people with a positive outlook can achieve incredible things and when positive people find positive people the potential is immeasurable. This is the way I feel working with you each day! For example, I started a teacher group text and was a bit nervous. In my experience, a group message can sometimes provide an opportunity for negativity to seep in. Well, my heart is so full with the positivity in our group so far. And thank you Tracy for ripple message. It is so true. We continue to do great things and can only hope that inspires other schools!  We will be adding a lot of new teachers next year and need to keep this at the forefront!
