Happy Sunday! Whew, what a week that culminated with a super fun Move A Thon! I love watching these events come to fruition. I also love that we are making each event our own. Someone commented on our Instagram saying 'Of all the schools I've been involved in, Westbrook is on a whole other level.' I have not stopped thinking about it. Personally, I do think that each of our events have been amazing, but not because we spend a lot of money or because we do crazy things. I truly think it is because of the tight knit and positive community we have built. Everyone loves to come be apart of all of these fun events. My goal is that the kids walk away from Westbrook remembering all of the people who loved them and all of the fun things we have done. We are on the right track! Thank you to all of you for being part of it.

I just looked at my post from last week and saw that the eclipse was on Monday. Holy Cow! Last week was a WEEK! I kind of thought the eclipse was last month. Ha!

Move A Thon Continued: As far as next steps for the Move a Thon, we will be sharing information about how students get their tickets and how they get to shop. The plan is there will be a sign up similar to book fair for kids to preview and but their items. It will also be open after school a few days.

Follow Up from Staff Meeting: Please let me know if your PLC would like iReady Instruction in ELA or Math.

Monday Choir Performance: I do not have a time yet. Marc will be reaching out!

Feedback Needed: A few principals are meeting with Meghan Baichtal on Monday afternoon regarding what they are calling a 'soft start.' That is when the students come directly to class in the morning rather than go to the playground or walk laps. I believe you were all asked to provide feedback on this. Is there anything I need to know? I haven't heard much about it and am wondering if there is anything I am missing. It seems to be OK to me, but I am not in your classrooms. Please let me know if there is anything I need to know. Thank you!

Community Thank You: Next up is the Community Thank You on May 3rd! We have many high school volunteers ready to go! This will also be a very fun event. We will have food trucks and because the craft and maker fair had to be postponed due to rain, we will have these vendors in our parking lot, the night of the event. It is going to be epic!!

Upcoming Dates:
May 3: Community Thank You from 5-8pm
May 16: First Responders Day (This is in the works, but it is going to be a very cool day for our students.) I will share more info as I have it.
