Happy Sunday! Thank you to all of you who were able to come to the Fall Fest. It was a huge success. We had 955 people attend the event which is mind-blowing!! The best part was that it was truly a community event. The high school was heavily present, local businesses were there and people who don't even attend Westbrook came for fun! Would you believe, one of the neighbors, who subbed in our front office ONE day, had a trunk!! She was Minnie Mouse! I am simply in awe of this community and how united it is!!

Another incredible thing that happened was Jonah and Flora's mom gushed about the fact there were kids who came up to them and said 'hi' them. They even complimented their costumes. As a mom, she has never experienced that in her children's lives. Also, Arya's mom, another parent from one of our FSP classes was in tears because she was able to bring her daughter and talk to other parents. They even came to our Fall Festival over her son's at Fiddyment, just sayin😉 THIS is what it is all about!! 

Regardless, I know everyone had a wonderful time. It was incredible!

This is the crew behind the magic: Traci Davis, Lauren Tameguia, Whitney Ignacio and Tahnee Hodge. They put so much heart and hustle into this event. There were so many others, but these were our master minds! 

Also, Marci Martinez and her daughter provided the photo booth, which was super fun! And Bunny Castle's husband wins the 'Saved the Day' award as he provided the light towers! When everyone pulls together and chips in, you can do just about anything. We demonstrate that time and time again!

Staff Picture: Our staff picture is Monday morning. The picture will be taken at 7:15am. Please report to the lab before 7:15am. 

West Park High School Players will be coming this Tuesday from 8:45-9:45am. There will be 18 players coming.

Skate Night: Would you believe we have Skate Night this Wednesday?? Who scheduled that?? Well, it was me. In my defense, it was scheduled last year. This Wednesday, 6-8pm. We would love to have you there! 

Halloween Parade: Our parade is this Friday. The information has been shared with parents. I will create and share an opt out message, unless one of you awesome people wants to whip one out to share😉 I can totally do it! 

Calendar Updates: I gave you all rights to our Staff Calendar. Please add your lunch meetings and even buddy times. It will help everyone know what is happening and where you are. Thank you for the suggestion! Here are a few sign ups that have recently gone around. The first is for assemblies and the other is where you should add the names of student's who want pizza or ice cream with the principal. When I get a few more students, I will be setting some dates.

  Happy Sunday! This week we have our first assembly recognizing our Resilient students. I cannot how happy it makes me to hear students talking about what it means to be resilient. This is such an important trait I hope to grow in our students at Westbrook. All of you are the perfect examples to lead the way as you have demonstrated such resilience in the opening of Westbrook. Another thank you to all of you! The Assembly will start around 10:10am. Some grade levels will be coming straight from recess. Let me know if you have questions about the process of the assembly. I know it will be new for most of you. I will have the certificates in your boxes tomorrow.  Keep an eye out for SWIS updates and information this week.  Volunteer Update:  Jason Perrone, our resident cheerleader, put a sign up in the staff room for him to come in and read to your class with the intention of having you leave the room and get a break. This is what I put in the family blog but I want to share it with you, as well!  Happy Sunday and Congrats to all of my Niners Fans out there! I am bummed we did not pull of the upset but it was a great game. The Packers made some big mistakes at the wrong time, but that goes to show you, we all make mistakes even if we are paid an astronomical amount of money😂 I have to say, I loved so much of the game. I loved (and hated) how close it was. I loved the history of Shanahan and LaFleur. I also enjoyed hearing how the coaches trusted their young quarterbacks.   Welcome to December, Westbrook! I just have to say, you all rock! Thursday's paint night was so much fun. There was so much laughing and well, joy. We were the first staff to do a paint night at MoJoe's and it was the largest paint night group they ever hosted. Leave it up to us to be the first! Many of you commented on how much fun it was and some even asked why more staffs do not do it? Well, to be completely honest, I want all of you to think about the staffs you came from and ask yourself if there would have been so many people at an event like this? In my experience not many would have shown up or it would have been the same few who always come. Is it the same for you? This is one of the million reasons we are so fortunate at Westbrook.
