We are almost there! The vision that comes to mind these last couple weeks of school is walking around with a huge net trying to catch all of the kids and basically carry them to the last day, well, last minute of school. And even though we try our darndest, some of the kids will still jump out of the net and literally flop around on the blacktop. But, we can do it!! We will keep telling ourselves that, anywayπŸ˜‰

Following up on my inflatable idea....we are going to do it, but you are in no way obligated to wear an inflatable costume. We do have several costumes available for you to use. I do not have the count yet, but they will be available. If you do not have a costume, you can just wear an inflated swim tube around your waste. Does that sound reasonable? I just think this will leave our students with such a smile and special memory. Also, being a short day, we can get into costume during lunch and walk the kids out in our costumes.

Yearbook Signing: We will have out Yearbook Signing on Tuesday, 5/28 at 10:15am. Grade levels will go to their area (see you PLC lead) and sign yearbooks or simply have the kids look at yearbooks. You may want to have some autograph pages/books on hand because very few kids ordered yearbooks.

Clap Out: Our 5th grade clap out is Wednesday morning at 10am. The map is above, but also attached to the email so you can see it. Just line up where I have your grade level and extend as needed. This is just a general guideline. They will be leaving the MP and heading to the playground. you are encouraged to clap and cheer as they walk by. You can also make signs if you feel so inclined.

When: Wednesday May 29th at 1:30pm
Where: 8176 Fort Collins Way Roseville
What to bring: Drinks and a swimsuit!
Sunshine will provide food and games! :)

Benchmark Curriculum: We are getting rid of our old Benchmark curriculum to make room for the updated Benchmark curriculum. Here is the info from Andrea:

I am still required to check-in all Benchmark materials before we get rid of it so please bring ALL Benchmark materials to the library as soon as you are able to.
I have left the colored carpet in the library open specifically for ALL Teacher Benchmark materials.
The table, as soon as you walk in, will be for Student Benchmark materials that you might have left over OR you can throw away your Student Benchmark Materials yourself.
If you would like to keep any Benchmark flash cards, booklets, etc. just label or put a post-it on what you'd like to keep.  Write your name and the word "keep".  Once I am done checking-in all the materials and removing all the barcodes, you can take those materials back.
Let me know if you have any questions.

Rori, Jenn and I are available to help get the curriculum from your rooms to the library. Just holler if you need help!

Teacher Check Out: It is that time already! Time to start thinking about room check out. Here is the district form: Teacher Check Out

We have some additional things at Westbrook. Your whiteboards need to be completely cleared of anything as they are going to fix all damages. You can store things on all of your counters, benches and in cabinets. If you have a couple of tupperware boxes, that are easy to move, on the ground, that is OK. Please move all desks to one side of the room. The custodians will do one side of the floor, move everything, and then do the other side of the floor.

I also have to get all of the classrooms that have not been used student ready. In addition, if you had any of the standard items moved out of your room, those things may be coming back. We can see if anyone else wants them or if you may have a use for them. If not, I can have them moved to the warehouse. Just know, this will be a process that will take some time. Let me know what other questions you have! This is new to me as well!

Reminder- room D5 is our drop and shop for anything you may not want anymore.

Here is a sign up sheet for check outs: Classroom Check Out

If you are moving rooms or need to come back the following week, we can arrange a time then. Just don't tell anyone I said that πŸ˜‰
