Welcome back!! Phew! I hope you were able to fill your bucket and take care of yourself this last week. We need to come back rested and ready as we know this run until the end of the year is fast and furious!! Many of you know I spent my spring break on a mission trip in Mexico. If you saw me leading up to the trip, you know I was pretty stressed about it. The week before Spring Break was a bit nutty and what I really wanted to do was sit on my couch. Ha! But I knew I needed to go, so I made it happen. Well, as expected, there are not words to describe how incredible it was. My bucket is full!! That is for sure! I can't wait to share stories!! It also means that I am going to be digging myself out of laundry and catch up until the school year is over, but it is worth it!

WE’RE HAVING A BOOK FAIR!

Save the date: April 8TH - April  12TH

While our physical book fair doesn’t start until April 8th, our Online Companion Fair is currently open and purchases can be made there.  The Online Companion Fair is where family and friends who are unable to attend in person can shop the book fair from home and still support Westbrook.  This is also where parents can purchase digital gift cards for their students!

Second Step Reminder: Rori and I took a peak at Second Step usage. We know and understand that it is tough to fit everything in, but Second Step is so important for our students. This is the Tier 1 instruction that supports student behavior. If you have fallen behind, don't stress! It is a great time to pick it back up as Unit 3 and 4 are friendships and problem solving. These are perfect for this time of year! The Spring is tough for kids to navigate. Just like flowers bloom, feelings and emotions bloom in the kids. Let be proactive and stay ahead of it!

Community Thank You/ End of Year Celebration: We are going to have a community thank you event as a culminating activity. Our community has been very involved and helpful this year. I think it would be pretty cool to start the tradition of having a thank you celebration at the end of each year.
For this celebration, I would like to have a silent auction of baskets created by each class and I would like for each grade level to create a booth for the event. I am hoping to get high school students to help work the booths. I have idea documents linked below.
Also at the event will be corn hole, family games, food trucks and more.  This event will be on May 3 from 5-7pm.

Upcoming Dates:
April 3: Skate Night
April 12: Move-A-Thon
May 3: Community Thank You from 5-7pm
