Sunday, March 3
Happy Sunday! Next up in our lessons from Ted Lasso, are 8 lessons for our students. I would actually love to take each of these lessons and make them a school-side focus for a week each. If we started after Spring Break, it would work. We don't have to make any reference to Ted Lasso, I just really love what each of these lessons offers our students. Let me know what you think and if you want to help. I know what you are thinking... Darn Brooks and her crazy ideas!!
Read Across America Week: This is going to be a great week! We have many fun things planned. Thursday Morning, we will have two assemblies beginning at 8am with the fire department. I will share the exact schedule on Monday.
On Friday and 10am, Jesse Bennet is going to be here to kick off our Read-a-thon! We will meet where we do for our Friday morning Flag Salute, she will read one of her books, possibly lead us through some stretching or yoga, and then send us off for some reading.
We will also be adding classes. Shocker! We will add 1 TK, 3 lower grade and 1 upper grade class. They are currently figuring things out and then more specifics will be shared.
Teacher Who Makes a Difference: It is already time to nominate a teacher for the Teacher Who Makes a Difference Award! I like to involve my staff in choosing the recipient each year. Please send your nominations my way including a few sentences letting me know why you think they deserve the award. Thank you!
3-5 grade teachers: Be sure to check your Chromebooks for any issues and get them turned in for repair right away. This includes broken/missing keys, sound not working, problems with logging in or the screen, etc. Also, if you have students who don't have headphones at school, reach out to families to see if they want to send some in or if they would like to borrow a set from the school for testing.
TOSA Tidbits:
- On the primary playground you may notice colored paw prints. Jenn painted those to indicate where students should form a line to play. Green is the number 1 spot. We had our Structured Recess group help plan the colors and it was determined that green is first because it means "go in".
- B-2 Happenings! Here is a current schedule of the happenings in B-2 during the 11:55-12:35 lunch hour. It's a busy place!
- Monday, March 4th: I will be at PD with the 1st graders so my groups and class visits are cancelled.
EL Update:
Just a reminder to please complete the highlighted sections as they pertain to you or your grade level. This information really helps the examiners. Sometimes pulling students during specials is inevitable, but they do their best to avoid those times. LINK
